Experiments with typography 2
I carried out more experiments on similar lines as the previous experiments. Most of these are included in my Unit 2 slides. I moved from single letters to words and paragraphs. For these experiments, I used the tools present inside Adobe Illustrator to generate different outputs, which attempt to create confusion in comprehension.
I used the filters present in the software and tweaked the settings to control the abstraction. This resulted in different kinds of outputs, some of them worked well in smaller sizes compared to bigger sizes. I tested these out with Microsoft’s Copilot. Some of the iterations were able to create confusion to a certain extent, some of them were easily read by the LLM and some of them were too abstract and illegible that no one can read them. I think its about understanding that balance in between comprehension and confusion as well as, understanding the differences in readabilities of humans and machines, which would work in my favour in the next stages of this project.
