Distortion

Studio Work 1

These explorations created initially at the start of the 3rd Unit started with ideas of distorting type, as a continuation of explorations done previously in Unit 2. I started by ideating about various ways one could distort visual forms, through physical tools as well as using digital softwares. The examples that follow were created using adobe illustrator. I tried to cut the dismantle the letters and words, and overlayed them with shapes to try introducing friction in readability. The image below is a brainstorm on the same.

The image above shows letterforms which are made using one letter.

These images above show the text message dissected, cut and rearranged to create difficulty in reading. The example at the end was also kind of a puzzle that can be rearranged to form the message.
